History of Physics Museum


    Traditional Cristmas meeting was organised on 8 January (Friday) in the BAS Restaurant (Central Building) from 18:30. Cover 15 lv.


    Annual exhibition "Caricature" in the Union of the artists - building on the street Shipka (near to the University) February 5, 2010. (Friday) from 5:00 PM, and coffee party on the ground floor from 18:00 PM.


    Prof. Nikolai Velchev gives lecture "New aphorism" in Music School "L. Pipkov" (Street "Oborishte" No 17), third floor, the first hall of March 5 (Friday) from 5:30 PM. Few words about Club of Physicist annual activities said the president Stephan Balabanov.

    The Club of Physicist uphold firmly protest of the Sofia University against bad financing on may 11, 2010 from 10:00 on the stairs before the central entrance.

    Discussion "Nanometre-scale materials as a reason for deflection of terrestrial magnetic field" on 21 May 2010 (Friday) from 5:30 PM on 4 th km in the building No. 11 of a Chemical Institute of BAS, I floor in Seminar hall of the Institute of Catalysis of BAS. There was a report by eng. physicist Dimo Garlaov.


    The Union of the Physicists in Bulgaria invited its members, colleagues and friends to remembering 40 days of the death of academician Matei Mateev and his wife, Rumyana, which will be conducted in the church "St. Sofia" September 2, 2010. (Thursday) from 4:30 pm.


    Walk among the beautiful nature of the western suburbs and meeting with our compatriots in Serbia-Montenegro, Serbia (Bulgarian name of the town is Bosilegrad). Departure from Sofia to the 9 October 2010 in 08:00 from Alexander Nevski square (up to the Art academy). In Dimitrovgrad - meeting with Ivan Nikolov, director of the Bulgarian centre of culture (10:30 - 11:30). Consideration of the church and the monastery school in the village (11:30 - 1:00 PM). Visit of the church and the monument of Vasil Levski in Dimitrovgrad, lunch and free time (1:30 pm - 3:30 pm). Check-out for Bulgaria (3:30 PM). Holiday in Town Kyustendil with cafes and a large commercial street. Visit the museum of Vladimir Dimitrov - the Master. Departure from Kjustendil in (18:00) and arrival in Sofia around 20:00. There has to be foreign passport. Price 26 lv.

    Exhibition of Hari and Penka Atanassovi (with topics mainly from the Rodopes) in Art Gallery "IKAR" , which is located in the business center "Platinium" on the street. "Bacho Kiro" No 26-28 the crossing with street "Ekzarh Yosif" October 15, 2010 (Friday) from 5:15 PM. The artists have had an exhibitions in America and other countries. After the exhibition visitors are invited to a cup of coffee.

    Premiere of the book "Achievements of applied physics in BAS. Discoveries and inventions of scientists from Physical Institute with ANEB and ISSP and in the XX century" author Krum Kolentsov. Premiere was open by the piano performance of Velislava Kolentsova. The book was presented by academician Jachko Ivanov and academician A. G. Petrov. The promotion started on 6 October 2010 (Wednesday) from 17:00 PM in the large Hall in the Central building of the BAS.


    Presentation of the novel "The Misunderstoods" of Bojidara Tsvetkova, 2 November 2010 (Tuesday) from 18.30 in the living room of the Community center "Slavjanska Besseda" on the street "G. S. Rakovski".

    Traditional Autumn excursion to the monastery "Saint Theodore Stratilat", 7 November 2010. The monastery is situated above the village Balsha (near Sofia) at the foot of the Balkan mountains. Departure from underground railway station "Serdika" in 10:00 AM. By the latter subway station in Obelya the bus was taken to the village Balsha.
